Please be aware of unauthorized phishing text messages that are being reported by PECU members.

These fraudulent text messages state that your account has been frozen and/or closed.  The message requests that you call a phone number with either an 866 or an 888 area code.

Please note that these are not messages from PECU and the phone numbers have been deactivated.  Do not call these numbers, or reply to these suspicious messages.

PECU will never ask you for your personal account information via text message.

If you have shared information about your account to an unauthorized party, or if you are unable to contact us immediately, you can cancel your debit or ATM card immediately through our Phone Step system.  To do this, please call (512) 479-6482 or (800) 346-6482, and select Option 3.

WARNING: You should never give any information to an unauthorized communication, especially if you do not recognize the source.  However, if you did call this number or reply to these text messages, please call (512) 474-1955 of (800) 772-1955 and speak to Financial Services, or send an email to member@pecutx.org.
