VeriSign Digital ID Certificate
Another component of PECU e-Branch providing security for financial data transmissions between our server and your browser is the VeriSign Digital ID Certificate, which acts as our proof of identity during Internet interactions. PECU e-Branch cannot perform SSL encryption without a Digital ID.
A Digital ID binds an identity to a pair of electronic keys that can be used to encrypt and sign digital information. A Digital ID makes it possible to verify someone's claim that they have the right to use a given key, helping to prevent fraudulent misuse. Used in conjunction with encryption, Digital IDs provide a more save and secure environment, assuring identity of all parties involved in a transaction.
