PECU is proud to be the Official Austin Credit Union of Marathon Kids®. Marathon Kids® is a free, incremental, school and community based fitness program. The program includes running/walking, nutrition and schoolyard gardening for area K-5th graders and their families. Marathon Kids learn to live an active and healthy lifestyle by running or walking 26.2 miles over six months, eating healthy food daily, and even learning to grow fruits and veggies.
The program is provided free to public and private elementary schools, as well as home-schools, or independent families. Children are challenged to run or walk 26.2 miles over six months. They are given a Marathon Kids Running Log© where they color in each 1/4 mile they complete. This helps each child to focus on his or her goal enabling them to see progress each day. Kids that complete the program receive the colorful MK shirts you may have seen all around town. In fact, Marathon Kids serves 70,000+ Central Texas kids. PECU salutes Marathon Kids®!

You can also help Marathon Kids by opening a PECU Zoo Crew account at either the Marathon Kids Austin Kickoff Event, or the Austin Grand Final Mile event for MK. At each event, PECU donates $1 to MK for each kids account opened that day.
