Xfinity Phishing Warning

Phishing E-mails and Text Messages

E-mails and text messages are being sent to random individuals claiming to be from Xfinity, a provider of internet services.  The e-mail or text states the individual’s payment was not able to be processed and the company needs more information to process the payment.  The e-mails or texts ask for an individual’s full name, username, password, Social Security number and additional personal information.

If you receive an e-mail or text from a company stating that there has been a problem with a payment on your account, you should call the company.  Do not call them using the phone number provided in the e-mail or text, but rather search for the company’s information either from a past bill or online.  No legitimate company will ask you for personal information such as your Social Security number or password via e-mail or text.  If you have received a phishing e-mail or text such as this, simply delete it.  Never click on a link within an e-mail or text unless you are sure it is coming from a legitimate company that you actually do business with.

Updated Browser Requirements

You will soon have an exciting updated look and enhanced features when you log on to our convenient e-Branch (upper right corner of PECU’s homepage). In order to better serve our members and ensure your online banking experience and financial information is safe and secure, we ask that you please make sure your internet browsers are updated to meet our minimum system requirements.

Browser Requirements:

  • Google Chrome 37 and later
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and later
  • Mozilla Firefox 33 and later
  • Safari 9 or later

Important Note: Internet Explorer 10 will no longer work with PECU e-Branch as of August 10, 2017.

Security Update

Login ID Change Requirement

In order to better serve our members, we are enhancing the security of our authentication procedures for online banking users. Members will be prompted to change their Login ID once they successfully login to their account. We ask that all members please change their Login ID from their Account Number to an alphanumeric ID with at least 7 characters of both letters and numbers. Passwords will not change unless you request a new one. If you have any problems, please call PECU Financial Services during normal business hours at 512-474-1955 or come in-person to any of our branch locations.
